Mag-Na-Ported 1911

Hey Guys,

I was just curious has anyone here have had any experience with a magnaported 1911? Is it worth the money or the trouble? I have read that it allows more fouling inside the slide but doesn't reduce the time in any substantial way for you to get back on target? Thanks for your input guys

Yes --- I had mine back around 1980 --- really a waste of money. It lost about 25-50 fps and the recoil felt the same as before it was Mag-Na-Ported ----- get a real compinsator instead like this one from Clark;

I sent a 1911 in for Magna-porting many years ago… when shooting it, I could not tell any difference. I am a fan of Magna-porting on higher pressure rounds, but I didn’t find that it had much impact on the low pressure .45ACP (though Gunfighter is right, a true compensator makes a big difference).
