I have an 18" rifle sight barrel and a Wilson Combat +2 extension on my 870P right now. I have tried two different clamps, and none of them fit both the extension tube and the barrel.
The first try was a cheap plastic (Tac-Star) clamp that I had sitting around. The magazine fits perfectly, but it's way too big around the barrel.
The second try was a Nordic Components clamp. It almost fits perfectly but not quite. I should add that this clamp is bullet proof. It's very tough, very solid, and it is surprisingly light. Maybe I'm expecting too much out of it, and it fits fine, but I don't like that I can see light around the sides when installed.
What else should I try?
I'm about to whip out AutoCad and make some plans for a clamp perfectly made to fit the 870 police barrel and a Wilson Extension. I wonder how much it would cost to have a machinist put that together...
