Today I bought this Sig Sauer C3 Compact 1911. It came with 2 6-round magazines and both fit flush with the handle of the gun. Mine has the crimson trace grips but that is because I bought them and installed them myself. I noticed that if you buy the C3 model that comes with the crimson trace grips than you get 2 magazines that have a black base pad. I am wondering if anyone knows were to buy those magazines or some good magazines that are compatible with my C3 or some that have the black base pad. Thanks for you help.

Or you can buy just the base pads, and install them on the mags you have. Of course buying more mags is never a bad idea.

Thanks guys. At first I was under the impression that the C3 had the same dimensions as the Commander having a full size grip but apparently the gun is a compact. I would like to get some 7 rounders and I have heard that Wilson Combat is the way to go. I may keep the factory mags as is and purchase some additional mags with the base.

If the gun is for carry, what most people do is carry the gun with a flush fit mag, and carry spare mags with the "slam pads" on them.

The flush fit mag in the gun allows for less printing, and the slam pads on spares allow you to slam a re load home without pinching your hand.

Smalls - This is my plan exactly. I plan on carrying the Gun with flush magazines or mags with a slight extension and I would like to have a couple of higher cap magazines to keep around the house or for backup.
