Magpul AR-15 BUIS question

Forgive my ignorance on basically all things AR-related, but can the magpul flip up rear sight be used in conjunction with the normal AR front sight? I don't see why it wouldn't, but also didn''t want disappoint to set in if I weqnt this route and found out I was wrong!!! Looking at a Doublestar HBar with magpul backup sight and a PRimary Arms M4...does this seem like a decent set-up for plinking and the occasional coyote and praire dog?

No reason why not. There are two different height front sight blocks, a .040 difference in the two types. If you have the short version you just raise the front sight further out of the block. I'm sure if you do a search you well find more info.
