Magpul forend on a Maverick 88

Hey guys. I'd really like to change my forend on my Mav 88. I've looked around and I like the Magpul the best out of what I've seen on line. Anyway I'm gonna safely assume that a Magpul forend for a Mossberg 500 or 590 would indeed fit? If so what about the action bars?? Would I have to find action bars for a 500? 590?? Are they the same??? Thanks for any advice in advance.. BTW this is for an 8 shot version 88 w/ the 20" barrel... I doubt that matters but just figured I'd mention it

You will need a new action tube for a 500. The Mavericks are pinned, no nut on the end to unscrew to change forends.

This. I was slow to learn it. I knew many 500 parts change with the 88. So I was looking at 500 videos on how to change the foreend and it took me way too long to realize the action tube is different.

Also of note, Mossberg 500 action tubes come in two different sizes: 7 5/8 and 6 3/4. Make sure you get the right one.

Update:
After a long grueling 6 weeks I finally managed to get both my Maverick 88's dressed up with some nice Magpul furniture. Originally I was just gonna do just the 8 shot but I liked the way it looked so much I ordered the kit for the 6 shot also. But what a pain in the ass trying to find 7-3/4" slide action tubes w caps. I paid over $100 for one and just under $100 for a second one USED on Ebay. The picture does it no justice but the Stealth Gray on the 8 shot is nothing short of badass.
