I bought this Magpul MOE buttstock on Amazon.com.

It didn't come with a buttstock screw. Can I use the standard A1 or A2 screw with this? If so, which one? I'm thinking the A1 screw, but I am unsure.

I'm pretty sure I used an A2 screw. Bought it with the other necessary buttstock parts at a gunshow. I made sure the screw matched with the A2 rifle buffer tube. The screw locked up nice and tight and the MOE buttstock is rock solid.

Is there a different thread pitch between the A1 and A2 buffer tube screws?

I just installed one and the screw is flat not tapered like a standard screw. The screw is also shorter than an A2 screw. You may have to contact Magpul to find a replacement.
