Just saw the announcement on Magpul - Magpul will be moving its operations to Wyoming and Texas, though the exact location of its facilities in Texas has yet to be determined.
Great. The antis were making their lack of moving a thing of mockery. Hope its employees can make the move as well. I hate to see somebody lose a job over something that isn't within their control. Not all employees will be able to make the move I'm sure but Magpul needed to be in a Pro RKBA state. Can't be contributing money to states who are attacking basic freedoms. Now if we could just get Remington and Beretta to move I'd be a happy camper.
it is probably a lot easier for their workers to make the move to Cheyenne. I'm not sure where the Magpul plant is but there was always a lot of people that commuted between Cheyenne and parts of Northern Colorado
I think Magpul was in Boulder, or in that area anyway. Not very far from Cheyenne anyway. And yeah, I'm sure the state gov. will make more money selling dope anyway. Jerks.
Come on down to Floresville... just a hop-skin-n-jump from San Antonio and it's cheaper and quieter here. Ya'll come see us!! Stay the heck outa Austin!!
The DFW area would be ecstatic to welcome Magpul's corporate offices . May good tidings and tantalizing tax breaks greet you in your new home
I feel bad for things getting bad enough in CO for this to come to pass, but sometimes you just gotta leave when it's obvious you aren't wanted at the party (or rather, the prom-queen doesn't want you at the party). Hopefully this gives pause, if not regret, to the powers that be in that state and they tone down the nonsense a bit. If not, I'm sad to say this is the first of many refugee companies, probably from across the nation, that will being fleeing in greater numbers to friendlier territory.
I must say I enjoyed learning about Magpul's company history through all this (I have no plastic mags from them). I had no idea they were as new as they are, how they got their start, how meteoric their rise, nor how big a player they are on the world stage today. Colorado has lost a tremendous talent.
With the growth they are forecasting into different product lines I would not be surprised at all to see a second mfg facility built in Texas in a few years.
