Magpul Moving to Wyoming and Texas

Glad to see a company with enough gumption to stand up and do what is right - I wish there were more like Magpul. I feel sorry for any disruption it may cause their employees.

Manufacturing is moving to Cheyenne.
We'll take them and treat them right.

The company is bringing in more tax dollars then any tax breaks they are getting. This is hardly corporate welfare.

Welcome to Texas! The local news said they were looking for headquarters up in North Texas so I figure they will go into the DFW area in general. We are glad to see them come here.

Now if we could just get S&W and Colt to come south and warm up a bit.

Dangit we should have had a bulletin board pool, or something. :)

I have to admit, Wyoming doesn't surprise me, but I didn't see Texas coming.

ratt_finkel Um, Texas is very gun friendly.

I hear that expression quite often, but then I read where people get into trouble with handgun open carry and some other issues.

Why would they be splitting up the manufacturing and corporate sides of the company? Is Wyoming that bad of a place to be if you are an executive, seems to be a better fit for a gun company.

Well, open handgun carry is illegal in Texas, permit or not.

And that permit (CHL) is pretty darn expensive and difficult to get, by "shall issue" standards.

It's fairly ironic IMO. Especially the no open carry part. Who would have thought Texans are afraid of seeing a holstered handgun?

I would imagine taxes play the biggest role.. Although neither state has an income tax so that's always a plus...

I hate to see this company pull up and leave, they were just 11 miles from my house, Erie, CO. . But, with the gov. we're stuck with for now, do understand their decisions. With the 2 representatives ousted this last year though, ol' Hickenlooper is in the voter's eyesight now, his stammering speech won't save him this time. Maybe too late to get back what the shooter's lost, we'll see !
