In general, I'm a single point kind of guy. That said––-single, 2 point, and 3 point slings all have their own pros and cons... The MS3 sling by Magpul combines the benefits of single and 2 point slings as well as adding a quick adjust tab into a single, well made, and affordable product. Here's a few of the features the sling comes with:

-No more outsourced components. Magpul makes all the hardware themselves now and use a hybrid polymer and steel mechanism to clip on to attachment points.
-It's composed of lightweight (6.2oz total weight), 1.25'' nylon webbing. So far, it's proven very durable and fray resistant.
-They ditched the old paracord that was on the MS2––-a big improvement in my opinion.
-The adjustment loop seems thicker and more robust than the old MS2.
-They also offer an integral QD mount version; but I haven't tested that yet.
-The MSRP is only $49 and can be found for much less (I paid $35 shipped for mine).

Here's a video showing some shooting with the sling in single point mode on an AR and 2 point configuration on an AK, followed by an attempt at explaining the features and how it works.

Thanks for the review and for the video link. I've been looking for a sling for my Mini-14 Tactical, and I think now I've found it. Thanks again!

IMHO, they should have made it longer. Maybe it's just me or where I attach it to the rifle, but even expanded all the way, it does do allow for weak side shooting when used as a two point. YMMV.

Interesting. My mileage does indeed vary. If I extend it out all the way I don't have that issue.

Maybe I need to lay off the biscuits... :) With the sling attached where the lower meets the buffer tube and toward the front of the rail on the other end, it works as a shooting aid when extended ~ 3/4 available adjustment. When extended all the way, I can shoulder it on my left, but it's too tight to be effective.
