That is a small .223 rifle.

Does Magpul have a history of hate toward civilians as HK? This would go great as a SBR with my PS90.

As far as I know, Magpul has exactly the opposite attitude toward civvies as HK.
But that's as far as I know. And I'd trust that about as far as I could throw Barbara Mikulski.

MagPul only hates us because they can't ever really bring to market any of the cool stuff they show off on their website or other places.

They have some incredibly talented design folks and some incredibly horrible business folks at that company.

Look for anything they debut at SHOT to be available for purchase 2-3 years later. Also look for little long term support for products because they tend to end of life things just about the time they start selling them.

That said I always hope things will improve, their products have some incredible innovation and design in them.

At one time FN was considering offering the 5.7 in a similar configuration.

They do offer a 5.7 in a similar config - the P90. The civilian-legal version which is semiauto only and with a 16" barrel is the PS90.

Magpul has a PDF on their website suggesting they will offer the PDR for sale to everyone (civilians too) in 2008. I like Magpul products a lot. They generally do things well and think the design through very thoroughly.

In some cases, they have dropped product lines because they were able to introduce an improved product that made the old one obsolete. For example, the M93 stock was originally slated to have a bunch of accessories but instead of developing the line of accessories Magpul redesigned the stock to introduce the UBR. M93 owners will be given a chance to buy the UBR at a discount; but not all of them are happy about the stock being discontinued.

In other cases, they have given estimated dates that they did not meet. As a result, they no longer comment on dates and any dates you do hear should be considered guesses at best.

If they do release the PDR in 2008, I definitely have a space open for another SBR.

And that's exactly the problem, there's a 3 year+ gap between being promised all these things for the M93 and the ability to get a UBR at some discount. I'm still waiting.........

Exactly my thoughts, along with another silencer to make the thing bearable.

I never noticed before but MagPul is just about down the street from me.

That wasn't a real rifle that got broken though. That was done in a rapid prototyping machine and was made from quite brittle plastic.

Aroo? Did you move? Or do I have a major gun maker in my neighborhood, too?
