I just bought a Para-Ordinance Super Hawg, and it's a great gun. Highly accurate, and looking to be very reliable after I finish breaking it in. (Range report someday soon!)

Anyway, This summer I want to get a magwell for it. I've looked at the one offered by Dawson Precision, and I think it's fine looking but I don't like the fact that it requires the use of proprietary basepads. I also looked into a Smith & Alexander magwell which will also replace the plastic MSH, but it requires modification to the frame which I am (understandably I think) hesitant to do on such a new gun.

I would like to know what the experts think on this, and if there are any magwells that:

1. Don't require proprietary basepads.(Compatible with factory basepads??)
2. Don't require permanent modification of the gun.

I'd also like to hear the opinions of other Para owners about the plastic triggers on their guns.

I don't know about the hawgs, but I've got a 14-45 LDA limited. I'm not sure in regards to the "magwell" what your asking? Do you want a beveled magwell (like a funnel)? I think STI makes a widebody frame you may want to check with them. I would replace anything plastic on the gun. It won't cost you much and it's doomed to wear or fail soon or later. I just got mine back from the shop for some misc. work, he put in a new mag release (original was plastic) as they tend to wear over time, let the mag sit slightly lower and cause feeding problems.
Oh yea, don't bother trying to get semi wadcutters to feed in the gun, especially 185 grainers, they just won't.

The super hawg is pretty much identical to the 14-45, with a single action trigger and a 6" barrel.

I looked at EGW's bolt on mag well for the para, but the page has no description and I'm wondering if it comes with a new MSH, because there isn't one advertised with it.
