"What are you doing looking through my bag?"

JohnBT hit it on the head.

This guy got major attitude with the LEO, challenged his authority, and basically escalated the whole situation himself. Maybe 12 hours in the can taught him to calm down when going through security.

I recently got to pass through the 'additional screening' booth to check me for explosives residue. The reason? I stopped to shoot the breeze with someone while we were waiting for the demi-gods to shake someone down in front of us. The conversation lasted about 5 sec after they were done. I didn't 'snap-to' quickly enough for the TSA massah, so I got publicly embarrassed, doing all kinds of remove this remove that in the see through glass of the explosives detector machine.

I hope the subject of the original story sues - being a unique subspecies of human, the TSA only understand force and counterforce (legally binding variety), not reason or humility.

If true, the guy being disrespectful and nasty (by his own, likely cleaned up version) probably didn't help him. "Quit running at the mouth" and smart aleck statements about why he only had a carry on aren't going to indear him to someone in authority.

The most recent was a dozen arab men getting out of theoir seats at once "to pray". They were reported to flight crew by a passenger and escorted off the plane. They should have been jailed for creating a public disturbance.

What exactly is wrong with that. Muslims, like religious Jews, have to pray a certain number of times a day (3 for us, 5 for them), at prescribed times, and using a particular set of rituals (so quietly sitting in your seat and "thinking" to G-d isn't enough). If I got up to say the Amidah (a part of the Jewish prayer service where we have to stand, talk quietly to G-d so we'll appear to be mumbling something in another language, and bow at times) with a group of other Jews who I was travelling with do you really think I should be arrested? If so, why?! Why does your being nervous or thinking we look odd trump our 1st Amendment freedom of religion? If not, how is it different from those Muslim guys?

Sorry, but no names of anyone and no specific airport means it's just hot air. If this guy really was wronged, he should state his name, the names of the authority figures involved, the name of the airport, when it took place, etc. Otherwise it looks like just another "a guy told me this story." Just like the guy who told you these pictures were of a killer brown bear that ate fifty people before getting shot :scrutiny: It may be a true story, but if it is why is the guy hiding the identity of the officers and the airport in question?

???

I'm glad I no longer have the need to fly anywhere. If this story were true, I'd find me an agressive/greedy(greedy...aren't they all?) attorney and sue them to the max allowed by law if it were me.:D

While I can sympathize with the TSA agents and the cop, there's no reason attitude should be an excuse for making a false charge.

Assuming the story is true.

I believe it is the Isrealis who say "The Americans look for items, we look for terrorists" or something to that effect isn't it?

The TSA is useless and I refuse to fly because of them. I will be driving to NJ for the holidays, and I will be driving to OK in april to visit my girl. Long drives yeah, and I probably wont have any problems, but I refuse to fly as long as the TSA is in place. Unconfirmed or otherwise I wouldn't put something like this or a random groping "search" over that useless agency.
