Man cave has reloading bench

A friend and I had gotten into reloading, and slowly acquired the tools needed over time. My father had given me an RCBS rock chucker he bought in the 80's and never used, and we rounded out our lineup through midwayusa and gun shows. Our bench was an old door on 2 saw horses.

We made it work, and learned through trial and error.

My girlfriend and I moved into a house last August, and three days before we moved in I had already gotten underway on a reloading bench. I just kind of made it up on a piece of paper, decided what I wanted after looking at other peoples photos online, and came up with what I have here.

I must say, it is very nice to have it come along this far. I know I'm 8 months late, but I finally got around to taking a few photos.

And as if it weren't enough already with the television and stereo, there is a full refrigerator around the corner and a toilet/shop sink in the other room.

Just gotta say, I love it.

im using my kitchen table right now. needless to say my parents arent gonna be too happy if they ever want their old table back since it has dents in it from a C-clamp and the edge of my press

The top layer is melamine coated board that I bonded to a plywood top. No issues as of yet.

My man cave just expanded. It is currently the type of room with New England sports memorabelia and a flat screen on the wall, but the space leading to it from my basement stairs has the paint drying as I type

I have $100 in Lowes Gift Cards and it will soon be a replacement to my current reloading "bench"...

I do to much in my shop to have a dedicated reloading bench unless I get a much larger shop. I'm working on that though.

Nice bench, though I think I would have put the Rockchucker in a bit further from the edge so I could have the ammo I was reloading to the left of the press rather than having to reach across the press to get to it. I've been using a Rockchucker since the 1970s & they're a great press, very versatile, I think you'll be happy with it.

Never have the TV on while reloading. Distractions are absolutely dangerous in this hobby. No telephone or doorbell either. It is just far too easy to stop what you are doing and return to the bench and miss something. The Rockchucker is possibly the best press made and has been my favorite for many years. I don't think it's possible to wear one out. It is fun to try though. Also be very careful handling primers under a flourescent light fixture. I know several folks who lit off a tube full of primers and had glass rain down on them. You'll probably move tools around a time or two until you find the right setup for you. Don't be afraid to try new arrangements.
