Be forewarned that the following news story contains all kinds of stupid.

-----------

As he was walking home from work Saturday night near Sowilleno and Arcadian avenues, a 21-year-old Chico resident was reportedly attacked by three other males and had his hand gun taken.

Police said the incident was odd from the beginning.

One of the three allegedly made an inappropriate remark to the victim, then the men approached him and pushed him to the roadway.

They began hitting and kicking the victim, but stopped when they spotted a concealed weapon - a Glock .357 magnum - under the man's shirt.

The three attackers confiscated the revolver , unloaded it and gave the bullets back to the victim.

Sgt. Dave Barrow said the men offered to leave to gun near a foot bridge, but it wasn't located by the victim several minutes later.

The suspects reportedly ran from the scene in the direction of the CSUC campus.

Barrow said the victim had a license to carry a concealed weapon.

Nothing else was taken from him, police said.

The suspects are described as white, in their early 20s, all about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 165 pounds.

One had short red hair, the other two had short brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Chico police at 897-5837.

***?!?

They take the gun, empty it, give him back the bullets, then offer to drop off the gun somewhere for him?!?

Something tells me he used up all his luck that night, or he knew the people.

And I thought only the German journalists are that stupid...

Fenris

P.S.
Especially the Colt 1911 seems to be a real problem for german journalists...
Every child knows a Colt is revolver, so it can't it be a semiautomatic handgun. Right? ;)

VERY fishy story. Smells PHONY to me! Think the police should question the "victim" again. The whole thing sounds made up:
1) Glock .357 revolver?
2) They took his pistol away from him?
3) They removed the bullets and gave them back to him?
4) They offered to leave the gun nearby?

Is he trying to get publicity? Or maybe trying to get a free gun from insurance company? I'm surprised the assailants weren't described as "little green men from Mars".

Good shooting and be safe.

Just got off the phone with the City Desk at the paper and he said that is how they got the information from the PD.

He also stated that they often have to run corrections based on faulty police info.

It was probably a .357 SIG, and the people doing the article weren't gun-savvy enough to know of that cartridge's existance, so they assumed it was a .357 magnum.

... and Glock doesn't make revolvers. DING* What's my prize? ;)

If Glock did makes teh revollvr, you cld freeze it in nitrogan and run it ovar with a pickemup truck and it'd still rulllez!!!

Sorry. I just had to

It could also be that the guy had a crappy revolver, and he's hoping to use his insurance money to get a Glock. Who knows. I once had a police officer tell me he used to carry a 38-millimeter revolver. Snubnose. People get confused pretty easily.

At least once a day, I get some sort of "wisdom" spouted at me about the horrors of civilian gun ownership by somebody whose sole source of information on the subject is prime-time police dramas.

Such things do exist. I think they're actually 37mm, and they're tear gas launchers, but... y'know. Maybe there was a recent invasion of mutant ninja zombie bears and he was just trying to be prepared.

You get the afore mentioned Glock-volver. Please go to your nearest bridge to claim.

hahahahaha.

why this guy didnt use his CCW on these guys??

so very odd.

but it sound like maybe (maybe) the perps were felons or something, didint really want the gun, just didnt want to get shot.

funny story

They come in 40mm as well. The 37s are black powder, 40s are smokeless. I have a couple of spent cartridges in both. Man...to have a revolver with one of those... :D

Damnit...

ya'll should be more uproarious... or whatever new word you want to make up. =) =)

IF... *I* was a police officer... and i *HAD* to carry a gun... even if i was *NOT* into guns... i would have to know more about guns than to *EVER* "report" that someone lost a .357 mag glock w/o putting at least a !?!??!?!? at the end of it....

rofl

seriously.

oh well

J/Tharg!
