I think it was Virginia and not West Virginia. There is a difference.
One of them is.... wellll.... farther west.

As for the dog, I hope he was able to see the stupid look on his owners' face.
If the dog was vicious, I have no problem with using the shotgun. Only in how it was used.
Even a rabid dog deserves to be disposed of humanely.

I don't think either of them deserved their fates. However, what happens happens. I don't think people deserve to die for beating an animal. However, if they die of their own stupidity while beating an animal, I am not going to shed any tears over it. I mean really, what can you say about this one? I am pretty much at a loss. I guess a good word to some it all up is stupid.

I have no problem with killing vicious domisticated animals. The animals could attack anyone or even children. Beating an animal to death when a more humane way of killing one is a little low on the life scale.
One thing you must bare in mind though, a liberal press reported it, we only have one side. Other details may have been intentionally left out.
Just speculation, but something to consider.

Stupid should hurt, really stupid should be fatal to the stupid. That is eminently fair since the rest of us have done nothing to warrant having to suffer the consequences of their moronic existence. It was merely the grace of God that put the shot into the imbecile, rather than an innocent bystander. Win-win! Had the shot gone astray and hit nothing of consequence, I am sure that the dead dull-wit would have created further havoc somewhere down the road.

If he wanted to be a big man and beat the dog to death, he should have done it with his bare hands.

This way, he serves as a warning to others: Always try to be smarter than the thing you are trying to outwit.

I agree the guy deserved it, but I think the wife did it then made it look like an accident. If you beat an anmial you will probably beat a human.
