Man arrested after firing a gun while preaching

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. Clarksville, Tennessee police say they answered a complaint call about a man firing a gun and found Jonifer Jerome Jackson with a Bible in one hand and a nine millimeter pistol in the other.
The officers say the 20-year-old Clarksville man told them he didn't intend to hurt anyone, but he believed shooting the pistol was the only way to get people to listen to his preaching, shortly before noon (central time) yesterday.

After police arrived, they say Jackson stripped to his boxer shorts for no apparent reason.

Police found razor blades and a steak knife in his clothing.

He was jailed in lieu of 50-thousand dollars' bail, charged with illegally carrying a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment, for shooting the pistol into the air.

Link coming up very slowly for me now.

Was this guy in a church, or outside on a sidewalk rambling? Was his demeanor "servant of God" or borderline nutcase?

The link isn't working for me either, but when someone strips to their boxer shorts as soon as the cops show up? I think we can safely assume that some form of mental instability may have manifested itself.

*bang*
"Jesus loves you!"
*bang*
"Whoa, there go my britches!"

Sounds more like the "sidewalk nutcase" variety.

I don't have to draw my weapon to get people to listen up. I just wouldn't recommend falling asleep. :D

Well, if he wanted their attention, he certainly got it. I think he would have been better off practicing his preaching techniques so that he could capture his audience's attention. It's much less shocking than an unexpected discharge of a firearm.
