I have a Kel Tec P3AT and mine goes bang every time too. I also consider it fun to shoot, and fun to carry. I'm slightly more confident in my GLOCK, but it's allot more bulky. I can't picture a better gun to have that'd be nearly as easy to carry.

If you know of one I'm all ears!!

.25 v. 380?

Mouse v. Hamster!

I tried keeping a hamster and a Mouse in the same cage when I was a wee little ACW. The peace of Mother Nature my @$$. It was like Mutual of Omaha in there. The hamster won. Little Fluffball of Death, that thing was. Mouse never had a chance. I yelled, "SQUEKER NO!!!" But is was too late.

He had that bloodlust in his eyes afterwards. Never could quite sleep nights after that. I'd wake up in a fit, sweaty, and look at the cage. The wheel would be slowly spinning to a halt and there he'd be at the side of the cage, staring at me. As if to say, "This jail can't hold me forever. Your time will come."

I don't know if I'd still be here if he hadn't lost what was left of his little hammy soul in an attempt to swallow an animal cracker whole. I just still have nightmares about those spiky little teeth coming at me. *shudder*

I'm glad this one turned out better.

P.S. I have a P-3AT. It too is a little Fluffball of doom! Constant companion in the Houston summer.

by the way, what's a good price on the keltec? I've been looking to get one for use at a certain restaurant I work at which prohibits guns on premise. Its funny, they told us the rules in orientation, and right after that told us to never use the alarm if robbed, because a couple years ago some waiters were herded back into a freezer and left, and when they used the alarm the guys came back and shot them all in the head. My first thought was of course, "nice, you are REALLY convincing me I should leave my guns at home." Anyways, those Keltecs would fit perfectly behind an apron.

Yes, no one dead, no one in court.

Good guy won, nobody got dead...good deal.

And good guy not sitting in the court defending himself for a good shooting either. And the punk gets a chance to change his ways at a young age. Sure, no more firearms, but being 19, he was already breaking a law right.

Getting boffed in prison as a pretty little 19 year old is really going to make him think a lot more critically in the future would be my bet too. :what:  :what:

I'm a big fan of Kel-Tecs myself but... ol' Lumpy kind of makes an ass of himself, drawing and pointing his piece at the camera for a local tv station...

"I think we probably leveled our sights close to the same time," Lambert said. "I think I got a bit of a drop on him. I told him to drop his weapon, and he said he didn't want any trouble."

Wow! What a lucky guy! The best way to win a gun to gun standoff is to simply pull the trigger and fire first. It is frightening to think that you want to start negotiations AFTER a gun is being pointed at you, but it worked in this case.

In regard to Kel Tec bashing, there are several points to be made here that are relevant. Regardless of your opinion of Kel Tecs and how they function, they don't matter since the gun wasn't fired. The caliber isn't isn't salient since the gun wasn't fired. The brand of gun isn't relevant since the gun wasn't fired. Hell, the gun could have been unloaded and broken and the same result occur...because it was not fired.

I like the pics of Lumpy, with his finger on the trigger, pointing at the camera and holding a carbine with NOT having the gun sighted on a target. He may be a good guy and survived an encounter with a less than determined criminal, but he seems to have issues with the 4 rules.

A lot of police carry P3ATs

A lot of police carry P3ATs for back-up. I carry one for back too. It has never failed in any way, shape or form.

"He's a young man, only 19-years-old," Lambert said. "He has a full life ahead of him. He can recover from this and go on to become a productive citizen."

Lambert says he's forgiven the man, but wants him to seek help. "I also want to thank him. I want to thank him for putting down that gun and not forcing me take action."

One of the 1-3 million instances a year that a gun is used to stop a crime and no one gets shot.

I have a P3AT that I carry, but it really makes one think about the real life possibility of being outgunned in a real life/death situation. I carry mine a lot, but it seems I'm constantly rethinking the caliber/one-shot-stop aspect as well as reliability. I'm not bashing the KT's...I'm just thinking about situations like these where "size really does matter!"

The P3AT is easy to pocket carry, but just about as easy is my S&W 2" Hammerless J Frame [442].

Upsizing applies to more than hamburgers!

Not sure I follow. Size clearly DIDN'T matter in this case since no one pulled the trigger.

I doubt the bad guy was dong the math on who had the bigger gun when this was going on.

Usually, the bad guy assumes his victim will just comply. Criminals don't want to get shot, they want easy prey.

Someone with a .380 is not easy prey.

My son has a P3AT he wanted one so he got it for his birthday, from his dad. He was going to purchase the .32. Lumpy may have problems with the 4 rules but he survived and no one died or was injured, worked out pretty well for him I'd say.

I carry a P3AT anytime I am wearing shorts. Love it, never had a malfunction at the range. I hope I never have to use it, but I will and am confident in it should I need to. Otherwise why even buy it, seriously, why keep a weapon if you don't trust it in a firefight?

Don't bash the KT's, they are providing reliable, cheap guns to people who might otherwise be forced to buy a (fill in you most hated brand). for me it would read S&W.

If a man points a gun at me he better shoot because mine is coming up blasting. This is a classic case of "no time for warings" Don't use a gun in a bluff, the other guy might not be bluffing. If the criminal was serious and many are, that would not have gone this way.

Methinks our would-be car thief had an "oh crap" moment when his intended target whipped out a larger gun than the perp himself had. You know, I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me that the BGs pistol wasn't even loaded. (nor would I be surprised the other way).

Heard this very early this AM on NPR, but they said the car salesman had a .38...

And no they didn't report it in an anti-gun sort of view either!

Lambert kept his money. The kid didn't get holed. These are good things. I'm guessing that Lambert went with his gut and it served him well. This is why I usually avoid the S&T forum - people seem to think that there is a cookie cutter solution to every conflict...shoot 'em!
Real life don't work that way and if it does for you, the future is gonna be a bit rocky for ya, I'm thinkin'.
The last thing you want to do is pull that damn trigger.
The last thing you want to do is pull that damn trigger.
No, there isn't an echo in here.
