Can you dry fire with it? Is it worth it? I have never messed with it. Threads here are years old.

THANKS

I do not have the X10. I have the Laser Academy and the Blackbeard. A rail is needed for the X10, and very few of my guns are railed. To answer your question, yes you can dry fire with it. You load the pistol with a laser cartridge. Is it worth it? Depends on how much you use it. You can save a TON of money not burning ammo at the range. The Laser Academy has a LOT of different options ( games I guess ). Single/multi shooter drills. A lot of different targets. I mostly use it for timing draw to fire/accuracy. The X10 also tracks movement from holster, all the way to the shot being fired. Laser Academy ( and I suspect X10 ) lets you list all your guns and keeps track of all your scores, so you can track how you improve over months or years. They can be a bit pricey to start, but with no trip to the range necessary, and no ammo burned, it pays for itself pretty quickly. There are a lot of youtube videos.

Mantis 10X also has an adapter that replaces the magazine base plate, and an adapter that inserts into the muzzle.

I bought a Mantis 10X during the shutdown. I hardly use it.

I found that a Pink Rhino laser cartridge provides more intuitive feedback than the Mantis 10X app. You can download and use the Mantis Laser Academy app for free, but you don't need it.

A cheap laser bore sight from Amazon works too for dryfire practice.

I gave up on all of that.

I use a Glock, and some stickers on the wall for drills.

Draw, first shot is a real trigger pull, further shots are just simulated by moving my finger and putting similar force on the dead trigger.

Dry fire practice is mostly a head game.

You can use a DA/SA pistol I guess, but that's kinda silly.
