Marble's Catch .22

Thumbs up on the 39A. If I didn't already have the Model 60 (also tube-fed), I would buy the 39A in a heartbeat. :)

This really caught my attention however (don't mean to hi-jack your thread):

"...Part of my training involved the proper handling of .22 rimfire ammunition. I was a little disturbed when told to discard and never use any ammo that had been dropped on the ground. Dad explained how .22 ammunition was outside lubricated and the oily residue on the bullets would pick up all kinds of stuff that could be harmful to the bore when it was fired..."

Now I'm worried as I do this all the time.

That's the puzzle for me. Typically easy to separate the marketing from the reality, but from everything that I've seen Marbles doesn't make junk, so this is tough. Hence the request for real world experience.

And TBH, I only shoot at a range from a bench. I'm really just interested if this makes loading the tube easier or more convenient.

Dunno, they are cheap enough. Maybe I will throw two of them in on my next Midway order and be the first one to try.

So do the fat straws from the hamburger joint. Disposable and free!

For what it's worth, I finally needed to make a Midway order and did indeed toss two of these things on the invoice.

Tried them out this past weekend. Meh. With the lid open on this thing, you have to do some maneuvering to get the next hole in line with the top of the tube, otherwise you're dumping rounds out. Kind of hard to get it right with the barrel in the way. You also have to remove the entire mag spring. I'm always paranoid about dinging the edge of the mag tube so I'm not so hot on that.

Shooting at a bench these are not so fun but maybe if someone were going out in the field for critters....they're very sturdy and durable. Kind of rattle though fully loaded.
