As far as I know Marlin only released the 41 magnum lever rifle with a pistol grip stock, model 1894FG I believe.

I was wondering if it might be possible to convert a 357 magnum 1894 to a pistol grip stock by harvesting the stock from a 336, 1895 or?

Its not just the stock, the trigger tang would also need to be addressed.

Thanks.

Maybe. I know you can convert within a model. (336 to 336, 1894 to 1894) You could probably find somebody willing to swap with you over on marlinowners. Typically people want to convert the other way. You need the stock, bottom tang and lever. Probably the stock screw as well. I went ahead and asked for you over there. http://www.marlinowners.com/forum/1...-marlin-straight-grip-pistol.html#post1557600
hopefully you can get a quick response from an expert.

I got an answer.

"No. The 1894 receiver is shorter so the trigger plates will not interchange.

Our own Muleman of Mule Loops (see the Industry Partners section) has been known to weld-up 1894 trigger plates to become pistol grip."
