I mounted a 3X9 Redfield wide angle scope on my 1894S. I used a Weaver one piece mount and Weaver rings. I bore sited it and found that I'm out of adjustment on the up side. I checked on the install and everything is in line and good that way. I even took it out and put it on paper and it's shooting 3 inches low at 25 yards. Any ideas? Since it's a onepiece base, is there any way of shimming it up, or down? I do have another scope to try but I'm thinking that it may be the same. I did have the Redfield on my Remington 30-06 and it worked fine on it.

I'am not sure I understand your up out of adjustment. But try holding gun secure on 25 yd target spot you were aiming at, then move crosshair down to bullet hole it printed. Hopefully you have some adjustment to use.

elevation knob is max'ed out

Sorry, crackerjack , I realize that I did'nt explain things properly. I'm out of adjustment on the elevation on the scope. The elevation knob is max'ed out and I'm still shooting about 2" low at 25 yrds.

My first thought, would be to make sure cross screw (in ring base) is in correct place seated down in groove. If it is I would check rings to make sure they are same height. I also would check to make sure scope is seating to bottom of Rings. They do make shims (Brownells) . Something is pretty off to be out of adjustment I have had one set of rings that were off and not the same height.
Good luck
