Marlin 336A vs 336W? whats the diff?

I've wanted to buy a Marlin 336 .30-30 for some time ... wally world has a 336(W, I think) for $379.

Whats the difference in these model numbers?

336A has a fore-end cap whereas the 336W has a barrel band.

I think Nem did a in-depth comaro where he was about to buy one of these. Search "336 Club" or something along those lines in this forum.

W band on stained hardwood
C band on walnut, metal finish somewhat more polished, available in .35 Rem also
SS band on walnut, metal is stainless steel

Front sight hoods seem to vary.
