Marlin 336BL

There's one in my local shop that looks and feels pretty sweet. Ironically, I'm a tall guy with an affinity for short rifles.

Has anyone had any experience with this model? I like the short barrel, but I'm skeptical about the large loop lever.

You will have zero problems trading that big loop lever for a regular lever.

As far as the rifle itself, if it was a 2009 model, its probably a great rifle. I don't trust the Remington-made 336's though.

It is a handy rifle because of it's size and shoots just fine.

I like the shorter over all length and think the big loop is a plus especially if you are wearing gloves or have large hands.

The laminate stock is considered all weather too.

If the price is right, I would go for it.

I have an 1895 BL and it feels and functions great in the field.
