I just bought a used model 60 sb, it seems to be in fine condition except the orange plastic front sight is all chewed up (the hood is missing). I'd like to get a black steel replacement, maybe with a gold bead, but I don't know the specifications. What size/style dovetail and what height do I need? Also, a replacement hood might be nice... anyone know where to get these parts?

I guess my question is really: does the model 60 use the standard ramp-mounted, 3/8" X .375" dovetail front sight? What is the appropriate height?

For the best-selling .22 rifle in America there sure is a dearth of information and aftermarket parts for the model 60... :(

Brownells, Ellet Bros might have what you need. Both of my 60s have no hood and no plastic, so I'm not exactly sure what you need.
