Has anyone had problems with the finish inside the chamber of the Marlin 795? I have heard that it begins to wear and can cause failure to feed.

For the price, the 795 makes a great Appleseed rifle, but I am a little concerned with this issue.

Curious where this information (misinformation, perhaps?) comes from?

Never heard of such failures. The 795 is not perfect, but the only feed issues I've ever heard of were from a bent ejector, and that is an easy fix and not so common a problem.

A more common cause of a failure to feed is contacting the magaznie with your hand or bench tilting it. Other that that they are pretty darn reliable.

The magazine should be occaisionally disassembled and cleaned. Failing to do so can cause misfeed problems. Check youtube for an instructional "How To" video.
