I have a old Marlin 980 DL 22 mag that has problems extracting spent shells. While messing with it I broke the hook off the band extractor. Can someone point me to a place to buy another one?

I'm seeing a lot of confusing results from searching the net. Seems like a common part to me but I can't seem to lock down the exact one. They look interchangeable between different models and years but I can't tell for sure. My new 917v 17hmr has a similar extractor but with a lobe that fits into a grove in the action. Nothing I couldn't file off and make it work if that's the only difference.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks John, no luck there but I found one at a place online called Popperts gun parts.

Sheeesh, who knew I had the rarest gun part in history. Seems like a comon part to me, there has to be millions of Marlin bolt .22/.22mag/.17hmr's that use this part. Guy at a lgs told me I probably would not be able to find one.

Took me hours online but I was able to find one.

Thanks NC, the page I looked at was sold out. Guess I needed to look a little farther. I'm going to order one from these guys too, can't hurt to have an extra one at that price.

Thanks again guys!

I have an old Marlin 980 DL and have googling all over trying to find parts. I should have known to search THR first. As I am rediscovering almost daily the members at THR come thru for me again and again. NCsmitty, thanks for taking Lot21's question by helping him you helped me also - THANKS!
