Sarcasm won't change the fact that he's right.

Of course he's technically "right". But it's not hard to be right with an if-then like that. You'd also be "right" if you said "If the sky were red, it wouldn't be blue." That doesn't mean it's ever red, or even red part of the time. It just frankly ain't got much to do with anything relevant in the real world. In the real world, people have accidents and people are negligent sometimes. Safeties reduce the liklihood of a serious accident when such negligence occurs.

Keep your booger picker away from the bang switch and you will not have to worry about a discharge when you are loading or unloading!!

Keep the front end of your car off of the arse end of the car in front of you and you will not have to worry about an accident! If only everyone would listen to you, there'd be no car accidents. If only.....

This should not even be an argument. If you feel better with the button, then keep it. If you don't then remove it or deactivate it. There is not right or wrong on this one.

I was raised on the half cock method. It works best for me. I remove all the safeties on my Marlins. However I can see others who might want to use the safety and more power to them.

Use whatever method keeps you the safest and don't worry about what others think.

Safety is most important!

Matt

I guess you don't read any of the 10/22 vs. model 60, or cleaning threads. :D

I actually happen to agree with you, but I've noticed that many people seem to think that the way they do it is the only correct way.
