Marlin lever gun, scout configuration

I am going to try to put together a Marlin lever gun in scout configuration, preferably a 30/30. any ideas which model, barrel length etc.
I would appreciate any assistance.

uhhhh,

Any lever gun is kinda already in 'scout configuration'. Sight mounted forward of the receiver, short, handy, reasonably powerful.
