Ok guys, I'm coming here to see if I'm being too picky. I recently ordered a Marlin XS-7. When it arrived, the recoil pad's tip at the bottom was mashed in and there were wrinkles where it looked like it had buckled. It's hard to see the "mashed" part in the pic due to the angle, but here it is:
I called Marlin/Remington, and they were very courteous and shipped out an entire new stock since they didn't stock the recoil pad separately.
HOWEVER, it came in today, and this is the new pad:
It's not quite as bad as the first one, but it has the same lines at the tip (though not the mashed part - it does come to a point).
Am I just being too picky about this? I don't want to be that "difficult" customer and I know this model of rifle isn't exactly intended to be a looker, but I've never had another pad on any other gun look like this. I'm tempted to order a Limbsaver to replace it but I'd hate to spend an extra $35 on a brand new gun just to get a pad that looks ok.
