My advice to anyone owning the rifle or knowing anyone who does would be to evaluate the bolt failure claims before firing again. Pass the word to any friends. This appears to be a serious design problem.
It looks like a case of bad bolt handle to bolt body tolerances with a press fit on that one. At least it wasn't a gas-in-your-face type of failure. I'm guessing the lugs held ok when firing. I'm sure Mossberg will make it right as they are a good company with a good reputation.
Both if you do your part and I would go with 25-06 for deer 30-06 for versatility. I like the marlin its more accurate than my atr and has a better fit and finish.
