I just purchased a New Marlin XL7 .270 i have heard alot of good things about these. i am just wondering if anyone has had any hands on experience with one. i have had a Remington 700 .270 and am wondering if i can expect the same results.
From what I've heard the X*7 marlin series are pretty comparable to the remington 700's in terms of accuracy. The contruction is similair and they are both owned by the same parent company. I would expect similair results.
lesse; should have a very nice recoil pad, a fully adjustable trigger down to about 2.5 lbs, which is super, and a great made bbl. I expect it to be the equal or better. Nice and comfy, easy on the shoulder, light trigger, all these things make for a happy shooter, which is a confident shooter.
I have a XL7 in 30-06 as well, I don't handload, but i have got 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. (off a rest) In my mind it shoots smooth, The recoil pad is outstanding, after 15 rounds during the break in, I felt great and shot another 20 rounds to get the feel for the trigger. I plan on hunting with it and trust the accuracy to make a clean one shot kill. (as long as I do my part) IMO you got alot of gun for your money. Now just to take it out and enjoy
