Married Guys: Does your wife shoot with you?

Yes, pistol only. She's not into rifles at all. She does not out-aim me, but she sure out-recoils me. The bigger the noise, more more the recoil, and the larger the flame, the happier she is. She's loves me to find handloads that turn her Ladysmith into what amounts to a personal flame thrower and noise generation device that only emits lead as a side-effect. Me? No thanks. I'm just a wimp.

I can't think of anyone I'd rather have at my side when we're out and about. Without even trying, she sees everything around her. I have to look to see things. She justs notices things automatically. I'll be so proud of myself when I noticed those things we're supposed to notice: "Hey, honey, did you see that guy loitering back there with his hand in his pocket?" And she'll reply... "Yeah. Didn't you notice the two on the other side of the truck? The tires on the truck were bald, it had out of state plates, and it was running." I'll just throw up my hands in surrender. I'm completely outclassed.

I just bought her a Heritage Rough Rider 4.75 barrel 22LR to practice with. She finds my P95 and 24/7 pro 45 a little to much for her. She is only 4'11" and 85 lbs.

absolutly, she is 4'11" and 3/4's lol little asian.

she loves my scoped marlin 60, beretta .22 pistol but also loves shooting 00buck and slugs from my mossberg 500 12gauge pump. even though she can't hold the front pump and run the gun while sholdered.

Speaking as the wife...

Yup! I shoot as much as possible with hubby, had only shot a 22 lr before meeting him. Love to shoot handguns, and like the rifle second. Carry a 45 Sig, my favorite caliber! In rifles, love the 6.8, much nicer than the 5.56 and then there's the 50 bmg! :D

Mine does not shoot. If I took her to the range she would complain "it's too dusty and too loud in here". I DO NOT WANT HER TO GO WITH ME. She does not understand & appreciate the fun & sport of it. And I would use a target that said NO NAGGING HERE.:neener::neener:

My wife, my son, and his wife all took the 3-day tactical handgun class from Thunder Ranch (Clint Smith) a couple of months ago when it was in the Dallas area.

We figured Dallas would be warmer than Oregon. Wrong. Sleet, snow, rain, and 20-degree wind chill. They all stayed with it.

All were shooting S&W M&P 9mms.

Mine has her own, Ruger M77 in .223 and a Smith K38. She even reloads her own ammo.

She is down-right scary with that 223, she can and does hit clays set out to 300 yards with a 1:1 ratio. Even with the Combat Masterpiece, any pop can, 2 liter bottle, or clay within 50 yards gets bullets better than 90% of the time on the 1st shot.

She does shoot better than I do. There I said it, LOL

She still does not like shooting auto-loading handguns, says they flip too much for her tastes but she beginning to covet my M4, dang, have to go buy another $1000 rifle this year.

No, despite my efforts she remains largely ambivalent about firearms.
