Yes, there is tiny minority of Dems who are pro gun. The party nonetheless is heavily anti-gun. Note that the bill has only one Dem sponsor despite the Maryland legislature having a majority of Dems.
Frankly your constant pointing to the tiny minority of pro-gun Dems as some sort of proof of something really reminds me of someone pointing to that Nazi named Oskar Schindler and his helpers as proof that the Nazis were capable of benig friendly to the Jews if only people would look past their negative prejudices about the Nazi's.
Disclaimer: I'm not comparing Dems to Nazis.
At least Jimeno is putting his money where his mouth is. He has consistently come down on the pro-2nd side of issues in MD. Compare that to Sen. Astle......he who went on a high dollar hunting safari to Africa and had the pictures published in the Capital. Then when the blissninnies cried about the horror of it all.....we wrote to defend him. Now....when the chips are down, I bet a BS, tepid, no-position, letter from him that lets me know that he's going to sell us out.....

Senator Jimeno is a good man; he lives in my neighborhood and has been a great community advocate for years.
He frequently attends our community association meetings.
He also voted in OPPOSITION to Senate Bill 288, the Md Assault Weapon Ban. He is the most pro 2nd Democrat I've had the pleasure of meeting.
This Republican will continue supporting Senator Jimeno, Democrat.

Yes, Democrats who are openly pro gun are viewed by the vast majority of their party, especially those in control of their party, about like the Indian scouts who rode with the 7th Cavalry were viewed by the Lakota and Cheyenne warriors.
