MD is technically a CCW state, but only at the most base of interpretation. You have to show "good and substantial cause" as determined by the MSP. Typically you must show repeated and documented threats against your life, be a pharmacist (think drugs), or a former LEO.
Oh....you can also get one if you are politically well-connected.
