Mass Driver... Do You Need A Longer Than Stock Barrel?

I was looking at the Strike Industries Mass Driver for a Glock 17 Gen 4. Do you need to purchase a longer than stock barrel for these? Thanks.

Interesting. Looks like it attaches via a long threaded spring guide rod. Based on the description it is cut to accommodate a threaded (longer than stock) barrel. But where it is not attached to the barrel, I suspect you could use a standard length barrel.

I have no skin in the game, and never heard of this company before reading this post. That said, the website says you can use them with threaded barrels, but you should use a Glock factory barrel if possible.

Did you call Strike Industries? They would know…at least I hope they would. They designed it.

The two minute installation video shows it going on in front of the stock barrel, held only by their trick guide rod.

The "recoil angle" video shows a lower Mantis reading but the Kewl Dood Operator In Kamo is getting a lot of whip and flip.
