I noticed a funny thing at a gunshop a few weeks ago. T/C Contenders are not Mass. compliant, but the Encore is. Even the box of the Contender says 'Not Mass. Compliant.'
Who and what do we have making ridiculous legislations in this screwed up state?
I think I live here just for the comic relief.....
Also, you need a license for black powder, caps, and bullets but not for the gun!
Thank heavens I'm not a victim of higher education and salary.

ROFLMAO! Might be the short barrel with the long stock thing? I don't know about the encore, but you can illegally install a rifle stock on a contender pistol. Just a guess there.

I'm glad I live in Texas. Our politicians can be quite stupid, too, but they seem to be less anal retentive. Did you hear about the gun by back scheme in California the other day, think it was LA? They were offering $100 to turn in a gun, another of the "getting the guns off the street" things. I'm sure most of 'em were widows turning in guns they hadn't tried to sell or some such. Didn't actually get many, but man the press was sure all over it. Yep, they're solving crime in LA. You don't need a gun now, they cleaned the place up over Christmas, the criminals are disarmed. I wish they'd do that around here. I have a non-functional Phoenix Arms HP22 POS I'd surely take a hundred spot for! Hey, it's a Saturday night special. That'd surely make the streets safer! :D

Looks like they found out that you can change the barrel on a T/C very easy. Of course why could do the same on most semiauto pistols.

Massachusetts is the Land of FEEL GOOD LAWS.

Let me explain, if there is a shooting or some wave of gun crime, the legislators pass laws that will protect the public by outlawing whatever the problem is.

It doesnt have to be guns, it can be everything

Yes, it's true that the AG's office thinks up these things. But it is funny, though.......in today's Boston Herald they have a story (with pics...woo-hoo!) about the MS-13 gangs being arrested, etc... with pics of their weapons. About a dozen knives, machetes, swords, saps....and only one pistol.
I can see the day in this state that I'll need a license for a Sawz-all.
I do think insurance companies are the inside evil on alot of this stuff up here. I understand that Black Labs are considered on the violent dog list when it comes to homeowners insurance.

I think its obvious that the T/C Contender in 7-30 Waters is the preferred "drive by" gun of choice on the streats of Boston :neener:

Homies be loadin' their own I guess.

IIRC,

in Mass, each model/variant of a gun has to be individually certified to be compliant. If the mfr. supplied the blued version, the SS is not certified; if they supplied the 3" barrel, the 4" is not certified.

Yes we can thank the A G for his rules on safe guns to protect the children of this state..One of the great things about what can be sold here is that there are two lists.one with guns that have been tested, big money to do this, and one that is of guns that can be sold here..a gun on list 2 must be on list 1 first,of coarse..The big problem is that there is no list "2", to be found..It is a big secret know only by the AG and the makers that have fulfilled his requirements..Seems that it leaves the local dealer in limbo as to what can be sold..What was"allowed"yesterday might not be tomorrow..
Great news, the AG wants to be Governor and the govenor wants to be president..Ain't politics wonderfull..
