I am now a Florida resident but I have a lot of family in Massachusetts. Under the MA "assault weapons ban" is a Ruger 10/22 illegal since it accepts high capacity magazines (though it does not come with one)? Also, would the same 10/22, with the standard 10-round factory magazines, be illegal if equipped with a Butler Creek folding stock? Thanks!

Your best bet would be to go to northeastshooters.com and ask your question there. Ruger 10/22 can be had in Ma with a 10 rd mag and hi caps if they are pre 94.
I would not bring ANY firearm into Ma if you don't have a Ma LTC. Major felony if caught with no LTC and serious jail time to boot.

The 10-22 is legal in Ma. I don't know about the stock.
Post-ban 10/22s would need to comply with the feature ban. Prebans can have all the features you want.

can't say anything about the stock but in MA the 10/22 is prefectly legal. Doesn't have to comply with the feature ban. almost every gunshop/gun store has them and they are all NIB. cant buy those hicap mags but CT you can. and no one is gonna give you SH*t for having one, and im pretty sure that as long as the gun is locked and unloaded then transporting it shouldn't be a problem. But to legally own a hicap mag then the mag has to be pre94
