I understand that this company uses fully automated machinery and has been around for over 24 years.

For those of you who have expressed concern about using re-loads for safety, reliability and liability issues, do you have the same concern with Mastercast Bullet Company in Enon Valley, PA?

I have purchased and shot their products in the following loadings:

.38 Special 100 grain cast lead DEWC
.38 Special 148 grain cast lead DEWC
.45 Auto 200 grain cast lead SWC

.38's were fired through a S&W 642 and Model 60 (3"). .45's were in a Kimber Target II.
Most of the cases were at least a little dirty after firing. Appearance of ammo looked good prior to firing. You will find a plethora of headstamps (majority of mine was Speer, followed by Winchester in commonality). The 148 gr .38's were more accurate in both revolvers than the 100 gr. loads. Both pleasant to shoot, no complaints. My daughter enjoyed shooting both, mild loadings certainly.
The .45's were fine in the Kimber. I liked the price and that fact I could purchase ammo in both calibers at a reasonable price. As you may have seen recently on their website, most calibers you have to supply your own brass. I would not be be surprised to see that change to ALL calibers.
A friend shared my order and ended up also with .40 S&W and .357 mag, he has not shot yet, so no comment there.
They seem to be pretty busy, no surprise there, but I was happy with order turnaround.

Thanks for your feedback.

I would like to hear from some more people.

Mastercast

I've bought and shot several thousand rounds from Mike at Mastercast and never had a problem. Good rounds, fast shipping,(before he got swamped! Now it takes a little longer), fair prices.
I wish he had rifle rounds.
I've bought 380. 9mm ,44 spl and mag, 45acp, 38 spl, 357mag. Pretty accurate rounds, good velocity and not too dirty. Nice guy to deal with also.

Thank you. Since I posted this question, I purchased some ammo in .45 and in 9mm and have fired several hundred rounds without any problem. I get his ammo from a local gun shop and I get a few dollars credit on returning the brass. It's been a much cheaper way to go for practice at the range.
When I learned that a local police department or two was using his ammo for range practice, I felt comfortable enough to go a head and use it.
So far, so good!

I use his bullets, but have never purchased his reloads. Its too fun to load my own!!

Been using Mike's cast bullets since 1991 when I'm too lazy to cast my own, and so far, so very good. Have used his .38 148 BBWC and 158 SWC, .44 in 240 SWC, .45 in 185 SWC, 200 SWC, 225 TC and 230 RN. All have been very well cast with consistent diameters. Icing on the cake is how reasonably priced they are, and always have been.

Have never received shipped product so can't comment on that aspect, as I just drop by the shop and pick up what I need. Visiting the operation while in full production mode is quite a treat. When things settle down a bit for him, I hope he will sell me some bullet alloy... Getting to be a PITA trying to find "real" WW's, and my ingot stock is running low.

Auto-mated equipment

All of your volume casters use automated equipment. Although I never used any mastercast bullets the ones my casters makes on his equipment are great bullets.
The casters have to use automatic equipment to put out any large amounts of bullets.
