I am sure someone has a masterpiece arms pistol or rifle, I was on their website, "from a link", and saw some interesting items. For instance they make a pistol or rifle, "since it's the same only with a folding metal stock" on it.
It comes in 5.7, which could be an interesting 20 or 30 round HD carbine with the red dot on it.
I was curious to see if any of your guys have any of these inexpensive guns? I know it's a cheap gun, but do they function reliablly or are they junk?
The way they are made, it seems like they are simple enough for there to be a reliable weapon in there someware.
Also the little 380 Protector, they make, looked just like a seacamp, but as I read about them, I saw that you cannot "dry fire" the gun at all. You actually have to take it apart and reset it if you do, which more or less cancelled that research right there. Otherwise that looked like a cheapo 380 seacamp rip off, that could have been a gun for the wife. Here is the model number of the carbine, the pistol links on the same page if interested

The pistol version is like $659 MSRP, so figure it's probablly a 5 hundred dollar item, for a 5.7 it could be an interesting entry point.

I have the MPA protector 380. It is a very good gun. Not true about dryfiring it. I dryfire mine all the time. You can't dryfire if the mag is not in. If you do that you have to remove the grip panel and reset a spring. That is just the way it is designed

Dryfire is fine with mag in though. It really is a very well made gun. I have had a Ruger LCP, Kel Tec P3AT, and a S&W bodyguard 380. I got rid of all and them and kept the MPA. It is noticeably smaller than the others, and the recoil is less (ported barrel). If feels better made too (that may just be the lack of polymer though).

I prob have 600-700 rounds through mine in about the 10 months I have owned it. I know that is not a ton of rounds or a really long time but I have not had a failure or jam and have been quite impressed with it. Just as accurate as any of the other pocket 380s and less recoil. Again, I find it a to be superior (to me) than the Ruger, Kel Tec, and Smith

Here is a pic next to the Kel Tec for size comparison. The only complaint I have is that it is 5+1 while the seecamp is 6+1 (I think). They are basically identical in size so the extra round on the seecamp is a big plus. Of course the MPA is only about $300 so that kinda offsets

Thanks for clearing that up, I will reconsider getting one now.

There are 2 "generations" of them. If you do decide to get one I recommending making sure it is the newer "2nd gen". The first gen did not have the ported barrel and they have redesigned the grip a little bit. I hear the first ones had a very stout recoil. Anyone that might be concerned with flash on the ported I have shot mine at dusk and the flash is no worse than a snub nose 357 (IMHO)
