Yugo 24/47 intermediate length.
These are functionally fine mausers. The workmanship is a little crude and these are not one of my favorite mauser milsurps. There is nothing wrong with them, but there are better choices for almost the same money.
To whether these are true Mauser's technically no. If it wasn't German manufacturered in a couple of factories it isn't a "true" mauser. Then there are mausers built by other manufacturers which this qualifies as, but I believe its a copy not licensed by DWM ( small point ). The third is mauser 'like" and there are a range of these also from the current CZ's to the Winchester moodel 70's of yore.
If your looking for a milsurp to keep original and not fiddle with the Yugo's are a good choice. If your looking to make a custom or semi custom rifle I would look for other options as these take a lot of clean up and polishing. The just didn't have the attention and quality built into them that other mausers did, I have been through many of rack looking for one of these and although the prices were attractive I really wasn't impressed with what I saw and passed. For the custom route in the long run it will cost you more, than starting with a better quality action in the beginning. Good choices for customs are Argentine 1909 ( German made ), BRNO- G33/40, VZ-24, Persian M98/29, or M98K, and pre war German manufactureed, particularly 1930's.
Here is a link on the German stuff it helps figuring out the old mausers:

Samco Global has the Persian M98/29 for $60.00 more than they are selling the Yugo's for, I would spend the extra dollars myself. Sarco has a bunch of mausers lately also, you might check them out.
