I am looking for a couple of the lever type Mauser 98 or 93 magazine or floorplate releases that brownell used to have, as opposed to the push type release. Any one know where I might find them? Any one have experience with use or installation? Many thanks, Neil

I think you are going to be hard pressed to find one. The only lever ones I am aware of custom made from bar stock.

neil, i'm tooling up to make them now. i've made a few in the past & they are not very hard to make. they will be made very similar the the meier works style but will include a bushing for the factory hole in the floorplate. i prefer to weld the hole up then redrill to the correct size but the bushing will allow you to solder it in place then dress it down like the meier works lever.
i'm not sure exactly when i'll have a batch of them ready but i'm going to offer them in several levels of completion. starting price should be around $25 with a unshaped lever & around $40 fully shaped & polished.

i also make a lever style pushbutton release. basically its a pushbutton release with a big fake lever on it. i sell these rough shaped for $25.00, fully shaped & sanded for $35

Dirtyjim, You have the answer I have been looking for. I know you understand how it latches. Is there any thing I will need to do, other than the hole repair? Do you have pictures of the under side? I will probably want 3. Have you thought of checkering the end? I don't really want to run the price way up but it might be a nice touch. let me know how soon you think they will be ready. Many thanks, Neil

Dirtyjim, areyou still making these magazine levers? If so I need two. Regards Paul
