Help me identify this 'mauser' type commercial action stock

I just bought a gun stock off of ebay which boasted a vague description but suggested it may fit a 93-95 mauser. Upon receipt I am disappointed to find it does not fit my mauser and I cant find any information on the net to figure out what type of gun it is for.

This stock is still showing some rough cut or pattern cut marks, still needs final sanding. It is a sporter type with a raised cheek piece. It has been glass bedded to fit an action and the top is notched on the left to suggest the mauser type bolt release lever. Here's the glitch: the distance between the screw centers is 6-7/8", which doesn't match any mausers I can find. It is cut through to accept a full bottom metal type floor plate. Also the main action seems to be 1-1/4" diameter the whole length. The bottom metal is 7-1/2" long overall. The front recoil lug imprint is 1/2" x 1" wide. The barrel contour is not a military type, but rather seems of a more commercial taper(from the imprint in the bedding. It looks like a short action. On the right side of the rear tang is a notch to indicate a trigger type safety.

If you can help identify this please do! I would like to either buy a gun to put in it or sell it.

I think they show dimentions for the different mausers inletting.

+1 on the pictures. Did I understand that the action is full round? All Mausers are flat on bottom. Round action with a bolt stop cut could be a Type 38 Japanese rifle. Don't remember if the Type 99's are round or have a flat. Or it could be a Remington 700 with receiver sight relief?

Here are some pics. The action does have a flat bottom. It cannot be a Rem 700 because of the recoil lug. Note the wide radius on the tang. I was looking at Sakos last night, visually seemed close but the closest dimension I could find on the c to c was 7.000".

Not sure if this pic will pull off of the web like I wanted it to, but I found this page about bedding actions and the Sako Finnbear looks just like mine, only this would have to be a short action.

The Sako Finnbear short action has an action screw CTC of 7 1/4". Are you sure of your measurement?
I don't have all the answers on commercial actions, but from the large magnum Mausers down to the short action versions, 7.25" CTC is the shortest that I know of in a standard Mauser configuration.
The Charles Daly mini Mausers show 6.25" CTC.

I am quite confident of the 6-7/8" measurement, and 7" was the closest I could find, via Boyds gunstocks web page. Now whether the previous owner of this gunstock somehow mislocated the aluminum screw guide is beyond me. In any event I have posted it to Ebay and it is currently for sale under vague description.
