Maverick 88 Barrels

I picked up a Maverick a few weeks back for almost nothing. Almost all my shotguns have shorter barrels and this one has a 28" barrel which leads to me banging into anything and everything. Looked at CTD for a replacement barrel, the only replacements were listed for the Mossberg 500's. So long story short will the 500's interchange with the Maverick 88 ??? Also the barrel on the Maverick is vented and dual beads so I don't want to drag out a hack saw

The 500 and Maverick barrels will interchange-------as long as they have the same length magazine tube.

This will fit a Maverick Field model----might want to look around for a better price though:

Maverick is Mossberg, the 88 is a 500 with a few minor changes. The barrels are 100% interchangeable, providing they have the same mag tube length.

I used to go to the local TURKEY SHOOTS, think I will patteren this one and see what it does. Last turkey shoot I went to I used a friends shotgun and beat him with his gun.

The factory vent rib barrel should also be threaded for chokes.

Buy a used barrel off of ebay and/or cut your existing one down to size.

buy a shorter Mossberg 500 barrel for work in the woods or security. Save the 28 for waterfowl and turkey. Leave the hacksaw in the box.
