I have a fantastic CCW holster from Crossbreed that is molded to a Bersa 40 UC

The Bersa is a great pistol, but not quite the "right" fit for me.

With a heat source, can I mold a smaller pistol into the same holster without damaging it?

Something like a Kahr cw9 or cw40?

I have heard that I would need to have a wet rag to protect the leather.

Anyone try this?

I would rather not have to spend another 90 bucks, if I dont have to.

I believe crossbreed will remold the Kydex for you, around $40. I wouldn't really suggest trying to mold it yourself. I've made minor adjustments to mine to gain more retention but I think it would be a mess trying to totally remold it.

Get a heat gun from Harbor Freight.

Heat Kydex gently until it flex's allmost as well as Kraft Cheese Singles. don't get it too hot. If it starts to shine you way over did it. Just heat it slowly and evenly and eventually it'll get flexy.

Throw holster on floor. Insert new weapon. Toss heavy foam over holster. Toss board over foam. Stand on it for 5 min.

Then gently heat edges of kydex holster and roll back the edges for easy reholstering like the factory crossbreed. Heat trigger are until it's loosens up enough to function right.

I make many OWB holsters using a Kifekits.com Kydex press:

If you screw up you can remold it over and over again as long as you don't overheat it. My toaster oven is set to 300. But I remove the Kydex befor it starts to stink wrinkle. 250 is a safer setting.

I don't think a heat gun will hurt your leather as long as you don't get stupid with it.
