I tried searching for the answer to this specific question but didn't find any relevant threads. If I missed one feel free to direct me to it.
I'm trying to obtain a non res permit to CC in ME and I have a few questions.
Just to give you a little info I have a MA res permit and a NH non res permit. I have a NRA Basic Firearm Training Cert but it was issued more than 5 years ago.
Will an updated "NRA Basic Firearm Training Cert" cover the "...a knowledge of handgun safety..." portion of the application or do I need a specific handgun training course?
If I need a handgun course, does anyone know of any courses in Southern MA? Bristol County area would be good.
Last but not least, I don't want to run the risk of a denial so should I put getting a ME non res permit on the back burner? I'm not sure how strict they are getting up there and I don't want to have to check the "yes" box on "Have you ever been denied a license in this or any other jurisdiction" for future applications/renewals in other states.
I don't head up there that often but it would be nice to have the option when I do.
