Anyone try these yet? These are the first aftermarket SP2022 mags I have seen. I assume they extend out a bit based on the picture.

IF it is made by MecGar it will work. I believe the MecGar actually manufacturers the OEM mags for SIG and many other manufacturers. They are a first rate company and every MecGar mag i have used (usually for my CZ) has worked flawlessly.

While I agree Mecgar makes great mags there are instances where they do not always function 100%. For example on the BHP and IIRC the CZ 75 they do not always lock back the slide when empty.

These days there is a lot of speculation who is Sigs OEM. I believe it depends on the model. Mecgar makes some I have also heard checkmate might be the new OEM for the SP2022. There was a mag manufacturer change when the brought production to the US.

Yes they are extended a bit. MecGar is good, as JohnGalt88 says it will work.
I ordered one, in fact.

Let me know how it shoots. I am looking for feedback from people who have this mag and can confirm its function and reliability.

Never used them for a SIG, but I've used MecGars for my Ruger P95 and a 1911 I used to own. They were always fine. I consider MecGars to basically be "just as good" as a factory mag for any gun they make mags for.

I understand that Mecgars are good but these mags are using a differerent follower. Standard mags for the SP2022 only hold 15. This is similar to the Mecgars for the BHP which hold more rounds than the factory ones.

Anyone ACTUALLY use these mags?

I've used the 18rd Mecgar mags for my Sig 226, when the factory mags only hold 15rd. Zero problems.

I know that probably doesn't help you, but it is an example of a different follower being used and working just fine.

Mec-Gar makes the magazines for SIG-Sauer--at least some of the SIG models. I know it made the 13-round magazines for the P229. At the same time (and for less money), Mec-Gar made 15-round magazines for the P229 under their own brand with a different follower to increase capacity. I prefer using the Mec-Gar 15-round magazines to the original 13-round.

You probably already know all that. What I'm getting at is the Mec-Gar magazine in question is as good as it gets and may even be a better option than the original SIG magazines.

I have Mec Gars for my CZ & my Tanfoglio. The only issue I had was one failure to lock the slide back (CZ). Cleaned it out completely and it's been 100% ever since. Can't confirm, but I've been told that Mec Gar is OEM for CZ.

I bought a couple of 18r Mec Gar mags for my 226 and they've worked flawlessly. I'd be surprised if the 2022 mags performed any differently.

UPDATE:

The Mec Gar 17 rounder I ordered arrived today. I passed the first test: it fit the gun and checked out Ok in so far as basic function.
Yea, that doesn't mean a lot more than just that.
It was nasty hot and I was not feeling too well today so no range trip, so I don't have a more thorough function check. Hopefully in the next few days I will be able to test it along with my new Ruger LCP.

Ooooooops....
This thread disappeared into the ether.
Sorry.
Yes, I tested the 17 rnd Mecgar for my Sig SP 2022 awhile ago.
Worked perfectly.
No flaws, hiccups, or anything. It does extend from the grip but it isn't really noticeable.

Told you so :D I was going to be truly surprised if you had an issue. You can see MecGar's rep just by reading the responses in this thread, and you can bet they test the hell out of anything they sell to ensure they keep that rep.

Their 1911 mags are spotty.
