Meopta Scope??

I'm buying a new scope to go with a new rifle I have pre-ordered. The rifle will be used primarily for prairie dogs and a few coyotes. I'd like your opinion about this scope Vs others in the $600-$700 range. Here's the link to the scope.

I haven’t looked through any of the new Optika series, but in general Meopta makes excellent stuff.

Meopta has a good reputation. They made the old Zeiss Conquests, and I have had good luck with mine.

Doug & company at Cameraland used to have good deals on Meopta products.

Ive got no experience with the Optika 6....

I do have two, had 3, meopta Meopro 6.5-20HTRs and the optical quality is excellent. Better than my Zeiss Conquest HD5s.

The only other scopes we (my dad and I) currently have thar better/equal them, are his SIII, and my Riton X5 Conquer.

I actually spoke to Doug in regards to purchasing either the Athlon Midas HMR, or the Optika 5 (as i was looking in the 500 dollar price range), and he suggested I go with the HMR, which also has excellent optics for its 450dollar price tag.

Comparing the HMR to my HTR they are pretty close, if the Optika 6 are better than the HMR, they should be really bloody nice for 600 or so.


Other suggestions from me would mostly be Athlons, or a Tract. The similar scopes i like are all heavier than id like on a hunting rig.

I have one pair of Meopta binoculars and two Meopta MeoPro 3.5-10x44 scopes. As a point of reference, in good light they seem to be fairly equal to my VX-3 optically, maybe a little better. In low light they are noticeably better to my eyes.

When I was working the Cabela’s gun counter part-time from 2014-2016 I dealt with Meopta customer service on the behalf of customers a couple of times. It was a very positive experience.

I run Meopta scopes with the #4 reticle on all of my rifles.

Good news! I found a Meopta, same as the one I linked on my OP, but with 56mm bell vs 50mm. And it was priced 20% below prices I've been seeing, plus no shipping or tax. Now I just have to get the rifles I've ordered.!! Thanks for your help.

I run three Meopta Meopro scopes and a pr of 12x50 Meostar binoculars. I like them better than my Leupold VX3ci scopes.

Received the Meopta scope today. It is better than I imagined and that is significant because I was expecting a good scope and received an excellent scope. It is my kind of scope; a hunter's scope. Extremely rugged with crystal clear glass and exceptionally crisp audible adjustments. Can't wait to get the rifle I ordered.
