Anything else that I should add to this order?

Instead of a powder trickler, I would get a powder measure. Powder trickler's are just that, they trickle powder into a pan, literally by a few flakes or granules at a time. This is fine for precision rifle reloading where a powder measure is used to dump some powder into a pan, then the trickler is used to slowly add powder to get the charge weight up to a specified amount with absolutely no variation in the final charge weight. This is not necessary with pistols.

Stans is right on with his advice; you don't list like you're gonna reload for rifle.

Have you figured out your primer and powder? A good reloading manual should be on your list. Hornady, Sierra, and Lyman all have good manuals. Plastic eye protection is a requirement.

Good info so far; but I would add a .40 cal/10mm
case length gague form Dillon as well. Just drop
a handloaded (complete) cartridge in, and you
will know right quickly whether it will chamber
in your firearm !:uhoh: Could prove to be a very
valuable time saver? :D

The Rock Chucker Supreme Master Kit includes a powder measure, hence I did not list that seperately, my apologies for any confusion.

I went ahead and threw in the powder trickler because I have some .30-06, 30-30, .308, and .35 remington that I will be reloading later in 2004 as I collect dies for them, those I will more than likely buy locally. Everything listed here is in an order through MidwayUSA.

I have Lyman's 48th reloading manual already, so that I could get acclimated to the reloading process. The RCBS RCSM Kit includes the Speer reloading manual, so I will have two to choose from at the start, intending to add more as I see the need.

Uglymofo:

I have a face shield that I use for when I am woodturning that I was going to use, combined with my everyday polycarb lensed glasses that I wear underneath. So eye protection is well represented.

Powder/Primer will be bought locally once I decide on what I want, after consulting the reloading manual on the bullets that I have chosen.

Thanks for the recommendation on a case gauge. Looking one of those up now.

That's a pretty complete list, nordaim. Knowing what I know now, I would change a few items on the list if it were mine. Wish I had been able to give myownself some advice on a few items years ago. :)

The trickler - I bought one several years ago and used it for a few months. It has sat unused for many years. It just isn't that handy a device for finishing off rifle powder loads. I use the little scoops that come with Lee die sets, in fact I bought a complete set of them over 30 years ago. One of the most useful tools on my bench. You'll find they are faster than a trickler with a little practice, and you can scoop some powder out of the pan with it if you go a little too far.

The shell holder - Instead of the RCBS single unit, I would suggest the complete Lee set. They are machined just as well as the RCBS and you get a holder for almost any common round you will be reloading. Well worth the small difference in price.

Will the lee shell holders work on an RCBS Press?

That is the reason I stuck with the brand family, having never reloaded before and wanting to stick with things I know will be compatible.
