A handful of people CCing may or may not reduce crime statewide - what it does do, most definitely, is give those people a way to fight back effectively.

Very true. I usually word what you put above as, "There are statistics that lead us to believe concealed carry lowers crime rates in society. However, even if it doesn't, it still gives me the chance to positively influence the most important crime rate of all -- the murder rate of me and my family."

Representative DeBose is scheduled to appear on NRANews' flagship program Cam & Company on Friday (May 18). No time has been given yet, but it will be archived until Monday's live broadcast.

My boss was the victim of an armed robbery. A very good man, and he felt particularly foolish because he was authorized to carry a service weapon but had no real daily need to do so and didn't have one along. We did sort of a debriefing over the matter and it was something of a "come to Jesus" session. Not long after he made it a point to go to a Calibre Press street survival seminar. He also made it possible for all the firearms instructors to go to Gunsite.

Upshot was that it was a real lesson, if humiliating. Any one who suffers through something like this and is willing to learn from it and change has my sympathy--and respect. I would rather have someone like that on my side than some blowhard internet ninja...

This man deserves credit for being a witness to some hard truth.

I hope that his conversion is real.

Back in 2005, Wisconsin Democrat state Representative Mary Hubler was attacked after a late-night legislative session.

I don't think she learned the same lesson.

She offered her vote in exchange for the adoption of her amendment, which was nothing more than a poison pill intended to make us kill our bill.

If a conservative is simply just a liberal who's been mugged, then what is she?
