MICHIGAN Castle Doctrine - COMMITTEE HEARING

There is some concern from the sponsor of this bill that the Brady Campaign will turn out in force for the committee hearing next week.

We need to have a turn out for this but unfortunately, we don't know yet if it will be Tuesday or Wednesday (I don't think most of the Brady folks have day jobs!) I will post it as soon as I have the info but in the meantime, if anyone from Michigan can go to this, it would be a huge help.

You don't have to do anything, except show up and sit in a chair, unless you want to.

As per usual with these things, business casual at a minimum. Some nice pants, a shirt with a collar, no t-shirts with slogans about Ted Kennedy. :)

Bump for the night. If you haven't written or emailed your legislator,do it now.

If anyone wants to go to the committee hearing, a group is meeting up at the Bob Evans at I96 and Cedar streets for breakfast. If you want to order food, you'll want to be there by about 8:45. Bob Evans is about 10 minutes from the Capitol.

Or head on over there yourself.

If you want breakfast, you should probably plan to be there by 8:45. You can either drive over to the Capitol from there, or find someone to carpool with.

For those of you who have never attended a committee hearing, Brad will be doing a quick run-through about where to go, what to expect, how you sign a card, etc. We're not sure if anyone else will be able to testify, given the number of people from both sides expected to attend.

I've been asked what you should wear to this. There is no need to wear a suit and tie or dress and hose, which some people were afraid of.

Nice pants and a shirt with a collar or sweater are best. Try to avoid t-shirts with slogans about Ted Kennedy's car or Rosie's spoon.

If the other side does get in your face, ignore them. Historically, they try to get a rise out of us, and make us look bad. Inevitably, they fail and look like fools, which is nice.
